Painting & Camping Photo Essay: Mont Tremblant in Autumn

It has been one of those weeks. I am scattered, my thoughts jumping around, my artistic endeavours littered around my studio in various stages of completion. As soon as I decide to put something down on paper another idea takes up residence in my periphery and, before I know it, crowds out the details of what I had decided to focus on only moments before.

Waiting for this scatter-brained state to pass has meant that I am several days behind in all my scheduled tasks. Including my weekly blog post. In a burst of activity I spent half a day last week organizing my photography from the past 2 months, including the images from my Mont Tremblant painting trip. I had intended to write this week’s post about my experiences to go along with the pictures, something along the lines of why everyone should go camping in autumn. Less crowded, gorgeous colours, no mosquitoes, skinny dipping in cold lakes when no one else is around to see …

Unfortunately I am going to have to leave it as a simple photo essay otherwise we may be well into winter before the words come to me. That’s just the way it’s gotta be. I seem to be saying that a lot to myself these past couple of weeks.

Oh, one more very important thing. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in last week’s postcard giveaway. Reading your comments was the highlight of each day. Quite honestly, I had no idea so many of you actually visited my little space on the web. I am honoured and humbled. The winner has been notified and the postcards are in the mail making their way to Germany.

So, go camping in the fall! You will not regret it. Well … maybe if you are on the west coast and you do not like camping in the rain. If you are out east definitely go camping in the fall!

Until next week.

Lovely paintings and photographs…. With the Westy in sight it’s all Genevieve. I could picture you there on the lake. Happy camping …it hasn’t rained here in 3 weeks.

Thank you. No rain in 3 weeks? Sounds like a lovely fall season for you. It has been such a treat to explore the east coast in my Westy. =)
