Norwegian Moments: Moody skies, dramatic lighting

Norwegian Moments: Moody skies, dramatic lighting

Do you like moody weather? A blue-grey stormy sky, clouds rimmed with the fading light, a shadow creeping across the landscape as the weather advances? Yeah, me too.

It was a busy day, lots of rooms to clean for new guests. This storm had slowly been building in the background, finally I could no longer concentrate on anything else. I stopped midstride between dock house and the restaurant, whatever task I was in the middle of forgotten, and turned 90 degrees walking quickly to the end of the road. I stood at the edge of the BBQ area, where we had hosted a midsummer feast a week before, and breathed it in. I still remember the freshness, the life of the wind, the almost electric current running fingers along my skin as the moodiness built in the sky. There have been few sunny days during my time on Bø, but I can forgive Mother Nature as I have this afternoon of awe to cherish in compensation.
